How it works
Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing another nontoken creature, adding CC.
When the creature dies, Nim Deathmantle triggers. Choose not to pay.
Activate Xu-Ifit by tapping it, returning a creature from your graveyard to the battlefield.
Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Xu-Ifit, adding CC.
When Xu-Ifit dies, Nim Deathmantle triggers, causing you to pay 4 to return it from your graveyard to the battlefield and attach Nim Deathmantle to it.
Repeat.
This clever loop uses Ashnod's Altar to turn your creatures into mana while feeding the graveyard, setting the stage for Xu-Ifit, Osteoharmonist to pull them right back out. Whenever Xu-Ifit meets its end at the altar, Nim Deathmantle steps in with its triggered ability to resurrect the Osteoharmonist and reattach itself, fueled by the mana you generated along the way. While Frostcliff Siege sits on the battlefield providing extra utility through its Jeskai or Temur modes, this engine endlessly cycles your creatures through sacrifice and resurrection.
