How it works

1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Fearsome Goblin Pair, adding CC.
2. When Fearsome Goblin Pair dies, it and Nim Deathmantle trigger,
3. Resolve the Fearsome Goblin Pair trigger, creating a 0/0 Goblin Army creature token and putting four +1/+1 counters on it
4. Holding priority, activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing the Goblin Army, adding CC.
5. Resolve the Nim Deathmantle trigger, causing you to pay 4 to return Fearsome Goblin Pair from your graveyard to the battlefield and attach Nim Deathmantle to it.
6. Repeat.

This ingenious loop transforms the humble sacrifice engine Ashnod's Altar into a self-sustaining engine of creation by using Nim Deathmantle to continuously rescue your sacrificed threats. When you feed the Fearsome Goblin Pair to the Altar, its death trigger creates a Goblin Army token that conveniently provides the extra mana and second sacrifice target needed to foot the Deathmantle's resurrection bill. By cycling the Pair back to the battlefield over and over, you generate an endless cascade of enters-the-battlefield, leaves-the-battlefield, and death triggers to overwhelm your opponents.
