How it works

1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Fili the Pathfinder, adding CC.
2. When Fili the Pathfinder dies, Nim Deathmantle triggers, causing you to pay 4 to return Fili the Pathfinder from your graveyard to the battlefield and attach Nim Deathmantle to it.
3. When Fili the Pathfinder enters, it triggers, creating a creature token.
4. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing a creature token, adding CC.
5. Repeat.

This loop is a masterclass in recycling, fueled by Ashnod's Altar turning your creatures into a steady stream of colorless mana. When you sacrifice Fíli the Pathfinder to the Altar, its death triggers Nim Deathmantle's ability, which graciously uses that very mana—plus a little extra—to pull the Dwarf right back from the graveyard. Best of all, Fíli the Pathfinder's own entrance ability immediately replaces the fallen hero by creating a Dwarf token, giving you another sacrificial lamb for Ashnod's Altar to keep the cycle spinning infinitely while building an unstoppable army.
