How it works
If Morselhoarder has any -1/-1 counters on it, activate it by removing a -1/-1 counter from it, adding one mana of any color.
Repeat step 1 as necessary until Morselhoarder has no -1/-1 counters on it.
Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Morselhoarder.
When Morselhoarder dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
Repeat.
This clever loop relies on Isilu, Carrier of Twilight—the night-facing side of Eirdu, Carrier of Dawn—to grant persist to Morselhoarder, ensuring that whenever the monstrous creature hits the graveyard, it crawls right back to the battlefield with a single -1/-1 counter. Once returned, Morselhoarder's native ability lets you strip away that counter to filter out a mana of any color, and you can then sacrifice it to Ashnod's Altar to generate two colorless mana and trigger its persist cycle all over again. By cycling Morselhoarder back and forth between the battlefield and the graveyard, you fuel an endless engine of sacrifice and rebirth that generates infinite colored and colorless mana.
