How it works

1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Glint-Sleeve Artisan.
2. When Glint-Sleeve Artisan dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
3. When Glint-Sleeve Artisan enters, its fabricate ability triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on it.
4. Repeat.

This clever loop relies on Isilu, Carrier of Twilight—the transformed face of Eirdu, Carrier of Dawn—to grant persist to your other nontoken creatures, turning every death into a recycling opportunity. When you feed Glint-Sleeve Artisan into Ashnod's Altar, the resulting colorless mana funds your engine while the persist trigger brings the Artisan right back to the battlefield. Crucially, its fabricate ability triggers upon re-entry, placing a +1/+1 counter that immediately neutralizes the incoming -1/+1 counter through state-based actions, preventing the persist shutdown and letting you repeat the sacrifice indefinitely.
