How it works

1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing the nontoken creature, adding CC.
2. When the creature dies, Mortuary triggers, putting the creature from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
3. Cast the creature by paying its mana cost.
4. Repeat.

This elegant loop relies on Ashnod's Altar to convert your creatures into colorless mana while sending them directly to the graveyard, where Mortuary immediately rescues them by placing them back on top of your library. From there, Augur of Autumn lets you peer into the future and fulfill your Coven requirement to seamlessly recast those same creatures off the top of your deck. Because the mana generated by the Altar more than funds this recycling process for cheap creatures, you get an infinite engine for death triggers and storm count.
