How it works

1. Activate Survey Mechan by sacrificing it.
2. When Survey Mechan dies, Mortuary triggers, putting Survey Mechan from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
3. Quintorius, History Chaser triggers, creating two creature tokens.
4. Resolve the Survey Mechan ability, dealing 3 damage to any target and causing you to draw three cards and gain 3 life.
5. Activate Ashnod's Altar twice by sacrificing the two creature tokens, adding CCCC.
6. Cast Survey Mechan by paying 4.
7. Repeat.

This recursive loop lets you sacrifice Survey Mechan to its own massive ability, which is made affordable by having a variety of lands, and immediately funnel it back to the top of your library using Mortuary. As Survey Mechan heads to the graveyard, it triggers Quintorius, History Chaser, whose trigger causes cards to leave the graveyard and produce spirits—a token production that is graciously doubled by Elspeth, Storm Slayer's replacement effect. You then sacrifice those generated tokens to Ashnod's Altar to fund recasting Survey Mechan, allowing you to seamlessly repeat the process for limitless damage, card draw, and lifegain.
