How it works

1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Threefold Thunderhulk.
2. When Threefold Thunderhulk dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield without a -1/-1 counter on it due to its replacement effect.
3. When Threefold Thunderhulk enters, it triggers, creating a number of 1/1 Golem artifact creature tokens equal to its power.
4. Repeat.

This engine relies on the interplay of Eirdu, Carrier of Dawn // Isilu, Carrier of Twilight's backside granting persist to your nontoken creatures, turning Ashnod's Altar into a dedicated sacrifice outlet that generates a surplus of colorless mana. When you feed Threefold Thunderhulk to the Altar, the heavy robot immediately returns via persist with a mitigating -1/-1 counter, yet its entry triggers a massive wave of 1/1 Gnome artifact creature tokens thanks to its towering power. You can then leverage Eirdu's front face to give your creature spells convoke, or simply use Ashnod's Altar's mana alongside Threefold Thunderhulk's own ability to pump it back up and fuel an infinite loop of death triggers, token generation, and raw mana.
