How it works

1. Activate Agonasaur Rex's cycling ability by paying 2 and discarding it.
2. Agonasaur Rex triggers, putting two +1/+1 counters on Evolution Witness.
3. Evolution Witness triggers, returning Agonasaur Rex from your graveyard to your hand.
4. Insidious Roots triggers, creating a 0/1 Plant creature token, and then putting a +1/+1 counter on each Plant you control.
5. Resolve the Agonasaur Rex ability from step 1, causing you to draw a card.
6. Activate the Plant by tapping it, adding .
7. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing the tapped Plant, adding CC.
8. Repeat.

This clever loop centers around a self-sustaining cycle where Agonasaur Rex endlessly recycles itself into your hand through Evolution Witness, fueled by the mana generated from its own bi-products. Whenever you cycle Agonasaur Rex, its trigger places +1/+1 counters on Evolution Witness, which in turn plucks the dinosaur right back out of your graveyard. This movement of a creature card from your graveyard satisfies Insidious Roots, which continuously spits out 0/1 Plant tokens and grows your board. Those very same Plant tokens can tap for mana or be fed directly into Ashnod's Altar to fuel the next cycling cost, turning your recursive graveyard engine into a well-oiled machine. While Frostcliff Siege sits quietly on the battlefield, the rest of the engine comes together to sustain this permanent loop, letting you draw through your entire deck and grow your creatures indefinitely.
