How it works

1. Activate Shilgengar by sacrificing Gollum.
2. When Gollum dies, it and Ratadrabik trigger.
3. Resolve the Ratadrabik trigger, creating a nonlegendary token copy of Gollum that is a 2/2 Zombie in addition to its other types.
4. Resolve the Gollum trigger from step 2, causing the Ring to tempt you, and for the Gollum token to become your Ring-bearer, thus making it legendary.
5. Resolve the Shilgengar ability from step 1
6. Repeat.

This clever loop turns Shilgengar, Sire of Famine into a relentless engine by utilizing Ratadrabik of Urborg to continually clone Gollum, Patient Plotter. Because Ratadrabik strips the legendary status from its copies, sacrificing the original Gollum to Shilgengar normally wouldn't preserve its legendary nature—until Gollum's own leaves-the-battlefield trigger resolves and the Ring tempts you, making the newly spawned zombie copy your legendary Ring-bearer. This clever interaction allows the copy to trigger Ratadrabik all over again when sacrificed, while fueling Shilgengar with endless Blood tokens and death triggers.
