How it works

  1. At the beginning of your combat phase, Council of Reeds triggers, creating a creature token.
  2. Deal combat damage using the creature that has Breath of Fury attached. Breath of Fury triggers, causing you to sacrifice the creature it is attached to, then attach Breath of Fury to the creature token, then causing you to untap all creatures you control and to get an additional combat phase after this one.
  3. Repeat each combat phase.

This loop hinges on a relentless chain of extra combat phases fueled by Breath of Fury, which demands that the enchanted creature deals combat damage so you can sacrifice it, move the Aura to a fresh vessel, and untap your entire board. Samut, Tyrant Smasher ensures your newly arrived attackers never have to wait to join the fray by granting them haste, while Council of Reeds quietly multiplies itself at the start of combat thanks to its passive token-copying trigger, providing an endless supply of fresh targets for Breath of Fury to latch onto. Because Council of Reeds also waives the legend rule for your side of the field, you can safely flood the board with identical copies without losing any to state-based actions.
