How it works

1. Activate Yawgmoth's second ability by paying and discarding a card, causing you to put two +1/+1 counters on Crystalline Crawler and Mindless Automaton.
2. Activate Crystalline Crawler's first ability twice by removing two +1/+1 counters from it, adding .
3. Activate Mindless Automaton's second ability by removing two +1/+1 counters from it, causing you to draw a card.
4. Repeat.

This engine is a masterclass in counter-conversion, turning Yawgmoth, Thran Physician's repeatable proliferate ability into a self-sustaining card-drawing machine. By casting Yawgmoth's second ability for {B}{B} and a discarded card, you exploit Branching Evolution to double the incoming counters onto both Crystalline Crawler and Mindless Automaton. From there, Crystalline Crawler's ability to turn its abundant +1/+1 counters back into black mana fuels the loop, while Mindless Automaton trades those same counters for fresh cards.
