How it works

1. Activate Shilgengar by sacrificing Gravecrawler.
2. When Gravecrawler dies, Bhaal triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on Crystalline Crawler.
3. Resolve the Shilgengar ability
4. Activate Crystalline Crawler's first ability by removing a +1/+1 counter from it, adding .
5. Cast Gravecrawler from your graveyard by paying .
6. Repeat.

This clever loop turns Shilgengar, Sire of Famine into a relentless engine by sacrificing Gravecrawler, which promptly triggers Bhaal, Lord of Murder to slip a +1/+1 counter onto Crystalline Crawler. With Crystalline Crawler's ability to turn that counter into black mana, you have just enough fuel to cast Gravecrawler right back out of your graveyard, exploiting the fact that it is a Zombie to bypass normal casting restrictions. Meanwhile, Shilgengar happily keeps spinning out Blood tokens with every iteration, letting you amass infinite resources and triggers to overwhelm the table.
