How it works

1. Cast Dargo from the command zone by paying .
2. When Dargo enters the battlefield, Cathars' Crusade triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on each creature you control.
3. Activate Altar of Dementia by sacrificing Dargo.
4. Choose to return Dargo from your graveyard to the command zone.
5. Resolve the Altar of Dementia ability, causing target player to mill cards equal to Dargo's power.
6. Activate Crystalline Crawler's first ability by removing a +1/+1 counter from it, adding .
7. Repeat.

This vicious loop transforms the giant oaf Dargo, the Shipwrecker into a recursive engine of destruction, repeatedly casting him for a single red mana thanks to his built-in cost-reduction mechanics. Every time Dargo re-enters the fray, Cathars' Crusade rewards your board by pumping up Crystalline Crawler with fresh +1/+1 counters. You then harvest those exact counters from Crystalline Crawler for the red mana needed to recast Dargo, while Altar of Dementia turns Dargo's repeated deaths into an infinite mill condition for your opponents.
