How it works

1. Activate Phantom Train by sacrificing Forsaken Miner.
2. If able, activate Crystalline Crawler's first ability by removing a +1/+1 counter from it, adding .
3. Activate Walking Ballista by removing a +1/+1 counter from it, targeting an opponent or a permanent an opponent controls.
4. When you commit that crime, Forsaken Miner triggers, causing you to pay to return Forsaken Miner from your graveyard to the battlefield.
5. When Forsaken Miner enters the battlefield, Celes's second ability triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on each creature you control.
6. Resolve the Walking Ballista ability from step 3.
7. Repeat.

This ingenious loop relies on a clever cycle of sacrifice, crime, and resurrection to overpower your opponents. First, Phantom Train lets you sacrifice Forsaken Miner, which conveniently triggers a crime when Walking Ballista shoots an opponent or their permanent. That crime lets you spend the black mana provided by Crystalline Crawler to instantly return Forsaken Miner from your graveyard back to the battlefield. Finally, Celes, Rune Knight notices Forsaken Miner entering from the graveyard and rewards you by distributing a +1/+1 counter to each creature you control, keeping your mana engine and ammunition fully stocked!
