How it works

  1. At the beginning of your upkeep, Court of Embereth triggers.
  2. Holding priority, cast Storm Herd by paying 8W manaW mana, creating a number of 1/1 Pegasus creature tokens equal to your life total.
  3. Resolve the Court of Embereth trigger, creating a 3/1 Knight creature token, then dealing damage to each opponent equal to the number of creatures you control.
  4. Each opponent whose life total is less than or equal to the number of creatures you control loses the game due to having 0 or less life.

By using Leyline of Anticipation to grant flash to your spells, you can bypass sorcery-speed restrictions and drop Storm Herd right during your upkeep in response to your own triggers. This timing allows Storm Herd to flood the board with an enormous swarm of Pegasus tokens just as Court of Embereth's upkeep ability triggers. Court of Embereth then rounds out the sequence by not only adding a Knight token to your newly amassed army, but also leveraging the total number of creatures you now control to deal massive, lethal damage to each opponent.
