How it works

1. Activate Thopter Squadron's first ability twice by paying 2 and removing two +1/+1 counters from it, creating two 1/1 Thopter artifact creature tokens.
2. Activate Thermopod by sacrificing a Thopter, adding ,
3. Crime Novelist triggers, causing you to add and put a +1/+1 counter on it.
4. Activate Thopter Squadron's second ability by paying 1 and sacrificing the other Thopter token.
5. Ashnod and Crime Novelist trigger.
6. Resolve the Crime Novelist trigger, adding and putting a +1/+1 counter on it.
7. Resolve the Ashnod trigger, copying Thopter Squadron's ability.
8. Resolve both Thopter Squadron abilities, putting two +1/+1 counters on it,.
9. Repeat.
