How it works

1. Activate Farmstead Gleaner by tapping it, adding 1.
2. Activate Farmstead Gleaner by paying 1 due to Agatha of the Vile Cauldron and untapping it, putting a +1/+1 counter on it.
3. Repeat.

This delightful loop transforms Farmstead Gleaner into a self-sustaining counter pump by turning its untap cost into a profit. Cryptolith Rite gives Farmstead Gleaner the ability to tap for mana, while Agatha of the Vile Cauldron steps in to slash the cost of its untap-and-grow ability down to a single generic mana. Because Farmstead Gleaner's ability puts a +1/+1 counter on itself, its power increases with every iteration, which is a lovely mechanical bonus even if Agatha of the Vile Cauldron's cost reduction has already hit its floor of one mana.
