How it works

1. Activate Argothian Elder by tapping it, untapping Griffin Canyon and another land.
2. Activate Griffin Canyon's second ability by tapping it, untapping Argothian Elder and giving it +1/+1 until end of turn.
3. Repeat.

This clever loop transforms an unlikely duo into an engine by rewriting the rules of the battlefield with Leyline of Transformation, choosing "Griffin" so that Argothian Elder counts as a Griffin alongside its druid nature. Because of this creature type shift, Griffin Canyon can target the Elder with its untap ability, which in turn taps to untap both Griffin Canyon and another land. By pinging back and forth between the two, you generate infinite untaps for your lands and an infinitely large Argothian Elder until end of turn.
