How it works

1. Cast Capture of Jingzhou by paying its mana cost, taking an extra turn after this one.
2. At the beginning of your next upkeep, Progenitor Mimic triggers, creating a token copy of Ardent Elementalist.
3. When the token Ardent Elementalist enters the battlefield, it triggers itself, returning Capture of Jingzhou from your graveyard to your hand.
4. Repeat.

This brilliant infinite-turn loop relies on recycling time itself through the clever abuse of creature replication and spell retrieval. It all starts with Capture of Jingzhou granting you the extra turn you need to set your engine in motion. Once your upkeep arrives, the non-token Progenitor Mimic triggers to spawn a fresh copy of Ardent Elementalist. Because Ardent Elementalist enters the battlefield with a triggered ability to pull an instant or sorcery straight from your graveyard, it immediately fishes Capture of Jingzhou back to your hand. By repeating this process every turn, you continuously recast Capture of Jingzhou to lock your opponents out of the game permanently.
