How it works

1. Cast Capture of Jingzhou by paying 3, causing you to take an extra turn after this one.
2. Move to your next turn.
3. Cast Chthonian Nightmare by paying 1.
4. When Chthonian Nightmare enters the battlefield, it triggers, causing you to get EEE.
5. Activate Chthonian Nightmare by paying EEEEE, sacrificing a creature with mana value 1 or less, and returning Chthonian Nightmare from the battlefield to your hand, returning Shipwreck Dowser from your graveyard to the battlefield.
6. When Shipwreck Dowser enters the battlefield, it triggers, returning Capture of Jingzhou from your graveyard to your hand.
7. Cast Chthonian Nightmare by paying 1.
8. When Chthonian Nightmare enters the battlefield, it triggers, causing you to get EEE.
9. Activate Chthonian Nightmare by paying at most E, sacrificing Shipwreck Dowser, and returning Chthonian Nightmare from the battlefield to your hand, returning a creature with mana value 1 or less from your graveyard to the battlefield.
10. Repeat.

This clever loop relies on an endless recycling of extra turns and creature recursion to overwhelm the board. You start by casting Capture of Jingzhou to secure your extra turn, ensuring you have all the time you need to set up the engine. Once Chthonian Nightmare enters the battlefield and feeds you its initial energy, you can begin sacrificing creatures to bring back Shipwreck Dowser, whose own entry ability fishes Capture of Jingzhou right back out of your graveyard. Thanks to Chthonian Nightmare's ability to bounce itself back to your hand as part of the cost, you can repeatedly recast the enchantment to generate more energy and juggle your threats indefinitely.
