How it works

  1. Cast Temporal Manipulation by paying its mana cost, taking an extra turn after this one.
  2. At the beginning of your next upkeep, Progenitor Mimic triggers, creating a token copy of Archaeomancer.
  3. When the token Archaeomancer enters the battlefield, it triggers itself, returning Temporal Manipulation from your graveyard to your hand.
  4. Repeat.

This clever loop locks down the game by establishing a self-sustaining engine of extra turns. You begin by casting Temporal Manipulation to seize an immediate extra turn, leaving the sorcery resting in your graveyard. When Progenitor Mimic is already copying a creature and sits non-token on the battlefield, its upkeep trigger creates a fresh token copy of Archaeomancer. That entering Archaeomancer immediately triggers to scoop Temporal Manipulation right back out of your graveyard and into your hand, ready to be cast again on your extra turn to repeat the cycle infinitely.
