How it works

1. Declare Grub and Combat Celebrant as attackers, choosing to exert Combat Celebrant as it attacks. Grub and Combat Celebrant trigger.
2. Resolve the Grub trigger, putting a -1/-1 counter on Combat Celebrant and then creating a tapped and attacking token copy of it.
3. Combat Celebrant dies as a state-based action due to having 0 toughness.
4. Resolve the Combat Celebrant trigger, causing you to untap all other creatures you control and causing you to get an additional combat phase after this one.
5. Repeat each combat phase, using the Combat Celebrant token instead.

This brilliant combat loop harnesses Combat Celebrant to grant you an endless succession of additional combat phases, while Grub, Storied Matriarch feeds on each attack to blight the Celebrant—placing a fatal -1/-1 counter on it while simultaneously spitting out a tapped and attacking token copy of it. Because The Fire Crystal grants your creatures haste and makes red spells cheaper, and its activated ability can even copy your creatures in a pinch, the board state explodes with infinite death triggers, enter-the-battlefield triggers, and creature tokens ready to swarm your opponents across an unbroken chain of extra combats.
