How it works

1. Activate Carrion Feeder by sacrificing Wingrattle Scarecrow.
2. When Wingrattle Scarecrow dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
3. Thran Vigil triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on Wingrattle Scarecrow.
4. Resolve the Carrion Feeder ability.
5. Repeat.

This cunning loop turns Wingrattle Scarecrow into a perpetual sacrifice engine by leveraging its conditionally granted persist ability, which safely brings it back from the graveyard whenever you control a black creature. Each time the Scarecrow hits the graveyard, Thran Vigil triggers as that artifact creature card leaves your graveyard during your turn, placing a +1/+1 counter on a target creature of your choice. That new +1/+1 counter immediately neutralizes the -1/+1 counter the Scarecrow returns with, resetting its persist eligibility so you can feed it right back to Carrion Feeder's sacrifice ability over and over again.
