How it works

1. Activate Gilder Bairn by tapping it, adding G/U.
2. Activate Gilder Bairn by paying G/U and untapping it, doubling each counter on target permanent.
3. Repeat.

This clever loop turns Gilder Bairn into a self-contained counter-doubling engine by exploiting its own untap symbol, provided you can pay its hybrid cost. To pull this off, the creature needs to tap for mana, a role seamlessly filled by enchanting it with Karametra's Favor. Finally, Zirda, the Dawnwaker brings the required mana cost down to size, making the entire activation cheap enough to repeat indefinitely.
