How it works

1. Cast Spiteful Hexmage by paying .
2. When Spiteful Hexmage enters the battlefield, it triggers, creating a Cursed Role token attached to it.
3. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing Spiteful Hexmage, adding .
4. Spiteful Hexmage is returned to your hand instead of being put into your graveyard due to Necromancer's Magemark.
5. Repeat.

This ingenious loop turns a modest common and an uncommon aura into a self-sustaining engine by exploiting the replacement effect of Necromancer's Magemark, which rescues your creatures and bounces them straight back to your hand whenever they would die while enchanted. Because Spiteful Hexmage conveniently enchants itself with a Cursed Role token upon entering the battlefield, it satisfies the Magemark's condition naturally without needing outside help. You can then feed the Hexmage directly into Phyrexian Altar to generate a mana of any color while triggering infinite sacrifices, storm count, and entry/leave-the-battlefield triggers, all for the low cost of recasting the creature to do it all over again.
