How it works

1. Declare Wanderwine Prophets as an attacker.
2. Deeproot Pilgrimage triggers, creating a 1/1 Merfolk creature token.
3. Deal combat damage to an opponent using Wanderwine Prophets.
4. Wanderwine Prophets triggers, causing you to sacrifice the Merfolk token and take an extra turn after this one.
5. Repeat each turn.

This loop turns the combat prowess of Wanderwine Prophets into an endless string of attacks by feeding its ravenous champion mechanic with a steady stream of followers. Each time you send Wanderwine Prophets into battle, Deeproot Pilgrimage watches it tap and immediately generates a fresh 1/1 blue Merfolk creature token with hexproof to serve as a sacrificial offering. When Wanderwine Prophets connects for combat damage, you simply sacrifice that token to its own triggered ability, claiming an extra turn while the token gracefully leaves behind no lasting footprint—ready to be repeated on the very next turn for total domination.
