How it works

1. Activate Mindless Automaton by removing two +1/+1 counters from it, causing you to draw a card.
2. Stark's Ingenuity triggers, putting two +1/+1 counters on Mindless Automaton due to Conclave Mentor
3. Repeat.

This clever loop turns Mindless Automaton into a self-sustaining engine by cycling its own counters into new cards. Every time you remove two +1/+1 counters to draw a card, the static enchantment Stark's Ingenuity triggers to put a counter back on it. That is where Conclave Mentor quietly shines, replacing that single replacement counter with two instead, completely offsetting the cost of the automaton's ability. By trading two counters for a draw and getting three right back, you net an extra counter with every single iteration to continuously fuel your card draw.
