How it works

1. Activate Yahenni by sacrificing Mindless Automaton.
2. When Mindless Automaton dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield without a -1/-1 counter on it due to its replacement effect.
3. Resolve the Yahenni ability.
4. Repeat.

This clever loop is anchored by Eirdu, Carrier of Dawn // Isilu, Carrier of Twilight, whose backside grants your other nontoken creatures the persist ability to bring them back from the graveyard when they die. By sacrificing Mindless Automaton to Yahenni, Undying Partisan, you trigger Mindless Automaton's persist return, while also feeding Yahenni's sacrifice outlet and fueling its growing +1/+1 counters. Because Isilu's persist brings Mindless Automaton right back to the battlefield with a fresh slate, you can repeat this process endlessly to generate an infinite stream of enter-the-battlefield, leave-the-battlefield, and death triggers.
