How it works

1. Activate Yahenni by sacrificing Scuzzback Marauders.
2. When Scuzzback Marauders dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
3. Thran Vigil triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on Scuzzback Marauders.
4. Resolve the Yahenni ability.
5. Repeat.

This clever loop sets up an endless cycle of sacrifice and resurrection by letting Yahenni, Undying Partisan feed on the tireless Scuzzback Marauders. Every time you feed the Marauders to Yahenni, their persist ability brings them right back to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter, which instantly triggers Thran Vigil as they leave the graveyard. Thran Vigil smoothly counters the persist drawback by placing a +1/+1 counter on the Marauders, allowing state-based actions to cancel out the counters and ready the Marauders to be sacrificed all over again.
