How it works

1. Activate Bloodflow Connoisseur by sacrificing Thunderblust.
2. When Thunderblust dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
3. Thran Vigil triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on Thunderblust.
4. Resolve the Bloodflow Connoisseur ability.
5. Repeat.

This clever loop relies on Thunderblust's persist mechanic to cycle endlessly in and out of the graveyard, fueled by Bloodflow Connoisseur's willingness to sacrifice it for power. Each time Thunderblust returns with a -1/-1 counter, Thran Vigil watches it leave the graveyard and rewards you by dropping a +1/+1 counter onto a creature. State-based actions immediately neutralize the opposing counters on Thunderblust, wiping the slate clean so it can persist all over again whenever Bloodflow Connoisseur demands another sacrifice.
