How it works
Activate Orthion's first ability by paying 1 and tapping it, creating a token copy of Su-Chi Cave Guard with haste.
Activate Thermopod's second ability by sacrificing the Su-Chi Cave Guard token, adding .
When the Su-Chi Cave Guard token dies, it triggers, adding eight C.
Activate Orthion by paying 3 and untapping it, giving it +2/+2 until end of turn.
Repeat.
Optionally, if you have an additional available, you may use Orthion's second ability once you have a large amount of C to get infinite , which can then be used to activate Orthion infinitely targeting any other creature(s).
This elegant loop centers on transforming Orthion, Hero of Lavabrink into an untap engine by equipping it with Umbral Mantle, allowing you to repeatedly copy Su-Chi Cave Guard. Each time the token copy is sacrificed to Thermopod for red mana, its death trigger rewards you with a massive influx of colorless mana. You can then funnel that mana right back into Umbral Mantle's untap ability to fuel the cycle indefinitely. Once you've generated infinite colorless mana, you can easily pivot into Orthion's massive seven-mana ability to flood the board with infinite haste-granting copies of any creature you desire.
