How it works
- Cast Deranged Hermit by paying 3.
- When Deranged Hermit enters the battlefield, it triggers, creating eight 1/1 Squirrel creature tokens.
- Activate Phyrexian Altar seven times by sacrificing seven Squirrels, adding 4.
- Activate Temur Sabertooth by paying 1, returning Deranged Hermit to your hand from the battlefield.
- Repeat.
This brilliant loop turns a single woodland visitor into an engine for infinite mana, tokens, and cataclysmic creature removal. When Deranged Hermit enters the battlefield, Chatterfang, Squirrel General doubles the incoming swarm into eight Squirrel tokens, thanks to its replacement effect. You then feed seven of those newly minted tokens to Phyrexian Altar to generate the mana needed for Temur Sabertooth's activation, which bounces Deranged Hermit back to your hand so the whole cycle can begin anew. Meanwhile, Deranged Hermit’s static lord ability pumps up your remaining horde, making them massive enough to fuel Chatterfang, Squirrel General's activated ability and shrink away any opposing threats.
