How it works

1. Cast Deep Forest Hermit by paying 3.
2. When Deep Forest Hermit enters the battlefield, it triggers, creating eight 1/1 Squirrel creature tokens.
3. Activate Phyrexian Altar seven times by sacrificing seven Squirrels, adding 4.
4. Activate Temur Sabertooth by paying 1, returning Deep Forest Hermit to your hand from the battlefield.
5. Repeat.

This wonderful loop is fueled by Deep Forest Hermit, which arrives to populate your board with four Squirrels alongside its own majestic presence. Thanks to Chatterfang, Squirrel General's replacement effect, that entry trigger is doubled into eight Squirrels instead, providing a massive surplus of fodder. You can then feed seven of those little critters to Phyrexian Altar for the necessary mana, leaving enough resources to activate Temur Sabertooth and bounce Deep Forest Hermit back to your hand. Best of all, once you're looping this cycle infinitely, Chatterfang, Squirrel General also lets you leverage your mountains of dying Squirrels to shrink any opposing creatures down to zero toughness.
