How it works

  1. Cast Chance for Glory by paying its mana cost, causing you to take an extra turn after this one and to lose the game at the beginning of that turn's end step.
  2. Activate Magar by paying 1B manaR mana, noting Chance for Glory and putting it face down on the battlefield as a 3/3 creature.
  3. During your next turn, deal combat damage to an opponent using the face down creature that has Chance for Glory noted.
  4. The creature triggers, casting a copy of Chance for Glory without paying its mana cost. Resolve the copy, causing you to take an extra turn after this one and to lose the game at the beginning of that turn's end step.
  5. Activate Sundial of the Infinite by paying 1 and tapping it, causing you to end the turn. This will prevent the Chance for Glory trigger from causing you to lose the game.
  6. Repeat from step 3.

This brilliant loop uses Magar of the Magic Strings to turn your graveyard's most explosive spells into physical threats, breathing new life into Chance for Glory every time they deal combat damage. By casting copies of Chance for Glory for free, you continually stack extra turns while also inheriting its dangerous delayed trigger to lose the game. That is where Sundial of the Infinite steps in as the ultimate safety valve: simply tapping it during your turn's end step lets you abruptly exile the stack and bypass that game-losing penalty entirely.
