How it works

1. Activate Viscera Seer by sacrificing it.
2. When Viscera Seer dies, Mortuary and Embalmed Ascendant trigger.
3. Resolve the Mortuary trigger, putting Viscera Seer from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
4. Resolve the Embalmed Ascendant trigger, causing you to gain 1 life and each opponent to lose 1 life.
5. Resolve the Viscera Seer ability.
6. Cast Viscera Seer from the top of your library by paying 1 life.
7. Repeat.

This clever loop turns your library into an endless revolving door for Viscera Seer, fueled entirely by life instead of mana thanks to Bolas's Citadel. Whenever you sacrifice the Seer, Mortuary steps in to catch it and place it right back on top of your library, primed to be recast off the Citadel for a mere 1 life. Meanwhile, Embalmed Ascendant acts as the ultimate engine for this recursion, triggering off the creature's death to drain your opponents and gain you enough life to keep paying the Citadel's cost indefinitely.
