How it works

1. Activate Goblin Firestarter by sacrificing it.
2. When Goblin Firestarter dies, Mortuary and Moonlit Wake trigger.
3. Resolve the Mortuary trigger, putting Goblin Firestarter from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
4. Resolve the Moonlit Wake trigger, causing you to gain 1 life
5. Resolve the Goblin Firestarter ability.
6. Cast Goblin Firestarter from the top of your library by paying 1 life.
7. Repeat.

This clever setup uses Bolas's Citadel as your engine, letting you cast spells directly from the top of your library by paying life instead of mana. To fuel this without running out of life or running out of cards, Goblin Firestarter acts as your looping sacrifice outlet and win condition, dealing damage while costing just 1 life to recast. Every time Goblin Firestarter meets its end, Mortuary steps in to neatly recycle it straight back to the top of your library, bypassing the need for traditional card draw. Meanwhile, Moonlit Wake provides a crucial life-buffer, ensuring that the life you pay to recast Goblin Firestarter is immediately refunded by its own demise.
