How it works
- Activate Carrion Feeder by sacrificing a creature with mana value 1 or less.
- When the creature dies, Mortuary triggers, putting the creature from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
- Resolve the Carrion Feeder ability.
- Cast the creature from the top of your library by paying 1 life.
- Bontu's Monument triggers, causing you to gain 1 life and each opponent to lose 1 life.
- Repeat.
This loop turns the top of your library into an endless recycling bin for cheap threats, fueled entirely by life instead of mana thanks to Bolas's Citadel. By feeding a creature to Carrion Feeder, you trigger Mortuary to place that fallen creature right back onto the top of your library so you can recast it immediately. Bontu's Monument softens the life payment of Bolas's Citadel by gaining you life and draining your opponents with every cast, while also discounting the black creature's mana cost to keep the engine humming smoothly.
