How it works

1. Activate Carrion Feeder by sacrificing Tarpan.
2. When Tarpan dies, it and Mortuary triggers.
3. Resolve the Mortuary trigger, putting Tarpan from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
4. Resolve the Tarpan trigger, causing you to gain 1 life
5. Resolve the Carrion Feeder ability.
6. Cast Tarpan from the top of your library by paying 1 life due to Bolas's Citadel.
7. Repeat.

This brilliant loop turns a humble ecosystem into an engine of endless power, centered around the life-manipulating dominance of Bolas's Citadel. By harnessing Bolas's Citadel to cast spells directly from the top of your library for life instead of mana, you can repeatedly deploy Tarpan as it gets fed to Carrion Feeder. Whenever Tarpan meets its end, Mortuary steps in to instantly recycle it straight back to the top of your library, completely circumventing normal draw steps. Best of all, every iteration of this sacrifice and rebirth is completely self-sustaining because Tarpan's own death trigger gains you the exact 1 life needed to pay for Bolas's Citadel's alternative cost, leaving you free to pump Carrion Feeder with infinite counters and achieve infinite storm or triggers.
