How it works

1. Activate Bloodflow Connoisseur by sacrificing Tarpan.
2. When Tarpan dies, it and Mortuary triggers.
3. Resolve the Mortuary trigger, putting Tarpan from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
4. Resolve the Tarpan trigger, causing you to gain 1 life
5. Resolve the Bloodflow Connoisseur ability.
6. Cast Tarpan from the top of your library by paying 1 life due to Bolas's Citadel.
7. Repeat.

This clever setup transforms cheap creatures into a self-sustaining engine by turning your library into a recurring hand. With Bolas's Citadel in play, you can cast Tarpan directly from the top of your library for life instead of mana, and thanks to Mortuary, that same Tarpan immediately returns to the top of your library whenever it dies. You use Bloodflow Connoisseur as the sacrifice outlet to send Tarpan to the graveyard, which not only grows the Connoisseur with +1/+1 counters but also triggers Tarpan's own ability to pad your life total back up, offsetting the life you spent casting it from the top.
