How it works

  1. Activate Bloodflow Connoisseur by sacrificing Fear of Lost Teeth.
  2. When Fear of Lost Teeth dies, it and Mortuary triggers.
  3. Resolve the Mortuary trigger, putting Fear of Lost Teeth from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
  4. Resolve the Fear of Lost Teeth trigger, causing you to gain 1 life and dealing 1 damage to any target.
  5. Resolve the Bloodflow Connoisseur ability.
  6. Cast Fear of Lost Teeth from the top of your library by paying 1 life due to Bolas's Citadel.
  7. Repeat.

This cunning alchemy loops life and death by utilizing Bolas's Citadel to cast spells straight from the top of your library using life instead of mana. Bloodflow Connoisseur serves as the sacrificial engine, feeding on Fear of Lost Teeth over and over. Each time the creature falls, Mortuary intervenes to place it right back on top of your library for the Citadel to play once more. Meanwhile, the life lost to Bolas's Citadel is entirely offset by Fear of Lost Teeth's own death trigger, fueling an endless cycle of sacrifices, counters, and damage.
