How it works

1. Activate Myr Scrapling by sacrificing it.
2. When Myr Scrapling dies, Mortuary and Blood Artist trigger.
3. Resolve the Mortuary trigger, putting Myr Scrapling from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
4. Resolve the Blood Artist trigger, causing you to gain 1 life and target opponent to lose 1 life.
5. Resolve the Myr Scrapling ability.
6. Cast Myr Scrapling from the top of your library by paying 1 life.
7. Repeat.

This clever loop lets you sacrifice and recast Myr Scrapling endlessly, using Bolas's Citadel to pay life instead of mana to play it from the top of your library. Mortuary ensures that whenever Myr Scrapling dies and goes to your graveyard, it immediately returns right back to the top of your library where the Citadel can see it. Meanwhile, Blood Artist turns every iteration of this cycle into a net-neutral life exchange that offsets the life cost of Bolas's Citadel while draining your opponents out of the game.
