How it works

1. Activate Death Cultist by sacrificing it.
2. When Death Cultist dies, Mortuary triggers, putting Death Cultist from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
3. Resolve the Death Cultist ability, causing an opponent to lose 1 life and you to gain 1 life.
4. Cast Death Cultist from the top of your library by paying 1 life.
5. Repeat.

This elegant loop transforms a humble one-mana sacrifice into a devastating engine by turning your library into a self-replenishing armory. With Bolas's Citadel granting you the ability to cast spells directly from the top of your library using life instead of mana, you can repeatedly deploy Death Cultist for a mere 1 life. Each time you sacrifice Death Cultist to activate its life-draining ability, Mortuary immediately intercepts the creature as it hits the graveyard and places it right back on top of your library. Because the life gained from Death Cultist offsets the life paid to cast it through Bolas's Citadel, you can cycle this sequence endlessly to drain your opponents out of the game while generating an infinite storm count.
