How it works
- Activate Bartolomé del Presidio by sacrificing a creature with mana value 1 or less.
- When the creature dies, Mortuary triggers, putting the creature from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
- Resolve the Bartolomé del Presidio ability.
- Cast the creature from the top of your library by paying 1 life.
- Bontu's Monument triggers, causing you to gain 1 life and each opponent to lose 1 life.
- Repeat.
This engine turns the top of your library into an infinite loop of life-draining sacrifice by combining Bolas's Citadel's ability to play spells from the library with Mortuary's knack for recycling dead creatures right back to the top. You use Bartolomé del Presidio as the free sacrifice outlet to send your cheap creature away, while Bontu's Monument provides the crucial cost reduction that makes casting it for life practically free, all while draining your opponents out of the game block by block.
