How it works

1. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing Crookshank Kobolds
2. When Crookshank Kobolds dies, Mortuary triggers, putting Crookshank Kobolds from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
3. Cast Crookshank Kobolds from the top of your library by paying 0 life.
4. Repeat.

This elegant loop relies on Crookshank Kobolds as a virtually free catalyst, costing zero life to recast thanks to Bolas's Citadel letting you play cards directly from the top of your library. Every time you feed the kobolds to Phyrexian Altar, you generate a fresh mana of any color while simultaneously fueling Mortuary, which neatly recycles the creature right back to the very top of your library. Because the Citadel replaces mana costs with life payments—and a mana value of zero costs zero life—you can repeat this cycle endlessly to churn out infinite colored mana, storm count, and death triggers without ever running out of resources.
