How it works
- Activate Shilgengar by sacrificing Shield Sphere
- When Shield Sphere dies, Mortuary triggers, putting Shield Sphere from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
- Resolve the Shilgengar ability.
- Cast Shield Sphere from the top of your library by paying 0 life.
- Repeat.
This clever loop is centered around Shilgengar, Sire of Famine, whose ability lets you sacrifice a creature to generate Blood tokens. By feeding the 0-mana Shield Sphere to Shilgengar, you instantly trigger Mortuary, which intercepts the dying artifact and places it right back on top of your library. From there, Bolas's Citadel allows you to simply cast Shield Sphere directly off the top of your library for zero life, resetting the entire sequence and churning out endless sacrifices and artifacts.
