How it works

1. Activate Blood Pet by sacrificing it.
2. When Blood Pet dies, Mortuary and Al Bhed Salvagers trigger.
3. Resolve the Mortuary trigger, putting Blood Pet from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
4. Resolve the Al Bhed Salvagers trigger, causing you to gain 1 life and target opponent to lose 1 life.
5. Cast Blood Pet from the top of your library by paying 1 life.
6. Repeat.

This ingenious loop turns life into an endless engine by leveraging Bolas's Citadel to cast creatures directly from the top of your library for life instead of mana. When you sacrifice Blood Pet for black mana, Mortuary catches it on the way to the graveyard, instantly placing the tiny thrull right back on top of your library to be recast. Meanwhile, Al Bhed Salvagers acts as the win condition, draining your opponents' life totals and padding your own life total with every single death to comfortably offset the life you pay into Bolas's Citadel.
