How it works

1. Activate Myr Scrapling by sacrificing it.
2. When Myr Scrapling dies, Mortuary and Fleshtaker trigger.
3. Resolve the Fleshtaker trigger, causing you to gain 1 life and scry 1.
4. Resolve the Mortuary trigger, putting Myr Scrapling from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
5. Resolve the Myr Scrapling ability.
6. Cast Myr Scrapling from the top of your library by paying 1 life.
7. Repeat.

This clever loop turns the humble Myr Scrapling into an endless engine of life and momentum, fueled entirely by the top of your library. Thanks to Bolas's Citadel, you can cast the Scrapling right off the library while paying life instead of mana, and Fleshtaker provides both a sacrifice outlet and the scry support needed to manipulate your draws. Whenever the Scrapling meets its end, Mortuary immediately catches it on its way to the graveyard and stacks it right back on top of your library. The result is a self-sustaining cycle that endlessly triggers sacrifice, death, and lifegain events while pumping your creatures full of counters.
