How it works

1. Activate Myr Scrapling by sacrificing it.
2. When Myr Scrapling dies, Mortuary and Al Bhed Salvagers trigger.
3. Resolve the Mortuary trigger, putting Myr Scrapling from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
4. Resolve the Al Bhed Salvagers trigger, causing you to gain 1 life and target opponent to lose 1 life.
5. Resolve the Myr Scrapling ability.
6. Cast Myr Scrapling from the top of your library by paying 1 life.
7. Repeat.

This clever loop turns the humble Myr Scrapling into an endless engine of recycling and attrition. Because Bolas's Citadel allows you to cast spells directly from the top of your library for life instead of mana, and Mortuary catches that creature the moment it dies to instantly stack it right back on top, the physical card never truly leaves your control. As the loop spins, Al Bhed Salvagers feeds on every single death to steadily drain your opponents' life totals while padding your own life buffer to keep paying the Citadel's costs.
