How it works

1. Activate Altar of Dementia by sacrificing Willow Geist.
2. When Willow Geist dies, it and Mortuary triggers.
3. Resolve the Mortuary trigger, putting Willow Geist from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
4. Resolve the Willow Geist trigger, causing you to gain 1 life
5. Resolve the Altar of Dementia ability.
6. Cast Willow Geist from the top of your library by paying 1 life due to Bolas's Citadel.
7. Repeat.

This clever loop turns the top of your library into an endless revolving door for Willow Geist, fueled entirely by life rather than mana thanks to Bolas's Citadel. Every time you sacrifice the Geist to Altar of Dementia, Mortuary catches it on the way to the graveyard and immediately places it right back onto the top of your library, bypassing mana costs as the Citadel lets you recast it directly for a single point of life. Meanwhile, Willow Geist's own death trigger keeps your life total stable by returning the life spent to cast it, allowing you to mill out your opponents indefinitely while generating an endless storm count and sacrifice triggers.
